Is there an advantage of one 454 TBI IAC over the other?

My 454 throttle body showed up this week and it has the flat/early IAC solenoid. My Wiring has the square connector. So I can:
    1) buy the adapter (~$15)
    2) go to the wrecking yard and get a square/later IAC (~$10)
    3) go get a flat connector from the yard and cut/solder it in place of my square connector

Is there an advantage of one IAC over the other? If there is not, I will probably go with option 1 because it gives me freedom to use either part in the long run. I don't like option 3 because I don't like cutting wires if I don't have to. Option 2 seems OK, too but option 1 is easier....

Shouldn't have to cut any wires if they're both weatherpack?
Just pop/release the wires out of the plug, and swap housings.

My local NAPA sells bare weatherpack connectors & pins
However you need someone who can use a book behind the counter, or knows what you're after/where in the store they are.
    YMMV on this though.

Disregard if the connectors aren't both weatherpack.

This is the adapter I am looking at:

Option 2 is off the table. When you have a flat IAC it is secured into the throttle body with 2 small bolts as apposed to the later square IAC which threads in. You cannot swap one for the other.

Both connectors are weather pack but the flat type has a funky shape to it. The pins are very different between the square and flat connectors so I dont think I can swap pins; the square type connector has the male pins on the harness side while the flat connector has the female pins on the harness side.

RockAuto has the connector for $14 but if I am going to spend that much, I might as well get the Fleabay adapter...

If you buy fleabay take it apart and check crimps & solder the wires.
Most of cheap weatherpack metripack stuff on there isn?t great stuff.
