Can an oil bath air cleaner be changed to use a paper cartridge element

With all of the activity under the hood messing with the carb, fuel filter and choke I have gotten pretty good at not making a mess removing the oil bath air cleaner but I have to keep a paper towel handy to clean my hands with. It would be great if a regular round paper air filter would fit in the air cleaner housing and not create some other issue. Has anyone ever done it? What filter fit in the housing?

Correction- it just needed a water pump!

It's been done for the baby Jeeps with the F134. Likely could be done with the filters that sit on top off a V engine. You have find a paper element that will fit in the housing, and modify the housing to accept the paper element.

I would look to the hot rod guys that want to keep the look of the vintage air filter, but upgrade to a paper element. Surely some hot rodder has done this to your style of filter.
