    Dakota Digital dash installed

Well, I have had the Dakota Digital dash since last July. Finally got around to installing it today.
Thanks to J10-Jimbo, I also installed a good used heater cable at the same time.
My FSJ buddy Rich (Woodchomper) came over to help with the install. He's real good and anal at getting the connections right. That's not my area of expertise.
Anyway, after he left, it was up to me to splice and connect all the wires to the main electronic box.
Here's a pic of the box tangled up in a web of wires. It actually looks worse than it really was. It cleaned up rather nice before installing the dash panel.

Here's a pic of the digidash panel laying on the driver seat and connected to the box with a rather long ribbon cable. The J10 was running and the Tach had not been calibrated yet.

Here's a pic of the Digidash installed. The Tach had just been calibrated and the J10 was running.

Everything appears to function as advertised. I still have to calibrate the speedometer and fuel sending unit. That shouldn't take much though. The instructions are well written and easy to work with.
    I'll finish the rest Sunday.

Its disgustingly easy and straightforward. Maybe a two-3 wrench job at most. The nice thing is that its complete, and customer service is top notch.
Still love mine (some of the best $ spent on my pig).

Oh Man...This thing is really neat. When you shift into 4WD, the odometer displays 4W DRV. When you shift back to 2WD, the odometer displays 2W DRV for about 5 seconds and then flashes back to the odometer miles...which currently display 000000.
I still have to calibrate the speedometer
I am just not going to know how to live with accurate guages.

At first I though you were turning 5,000 RPMS!!!!

Then I figured out that was the redline you set. <g>

                Looks nice.

The kit comes with new oil pressure and engine temp sending units. I installed those while Rich looked over the dash wiring diagram and made comparisons to the dash wiring harness. Then, he drew up a simple wiring diagram (for dummies) that I could read before he had to leave. After that, it was just a matter of a couple hours getting all the wires spliced and attached to the control box and re-installing the dash.

That's the default redline set by the manufacturer. I can set it to anything at increments of 500. I'm not sure what redline is for a 360. So, if someone knows that, let me know.
