So you trailered the GW with the F150, then flat-towed a CJ-7 behind that?
You know it's bad when your car's on the EPA's 10 most wanted list!

Hey Sparky, Is that a track bar on the front with Leaf springs?
          How and why?

It's a driver side drop front end so it's newer than mine, but was that setup factory? Wouldn't the arc of the track bar push against the straight up and down motion of the leafs????

If it is factory maybe I could turn the bar around for my pass/side drop, build some mounts, toss the leafs and go 4-link/coil over like I've been dreamin about

PS. Great job keeping pics of the buildup. I'm really bad about that with all the projects I've done, now I wish I had more build up pics.

CJ5. Nope, it got driven from San Diego to Phoenix when we moved. It was just parked behind the trailer in that picture.

Driver's drop was factory from like 80- on. The track bar is also factory, and it has one on the rear also. Not sure how much it helps or hurts. With all that weight in the front it is kinda mushy. I do need to replace the bushings in the track bar as they are oil soaked and sloppy. I would imagine that they were trying to do something about the bump steer problem. Converting to coils has also crossed my mind - something like the setup from a new F250/350 with a simple set of arms and use the factory track bar. The factory frame mount for the track bar looks kinda whimpy though - I'm sure I'd have no problem tearing it off.

Back to the garage...since the Waggy isn't here to work on, I pulled the CJ into the garage and started a couple "small" projects and it has ballooned into rewire the engine compartment, install the serp belt setup, change motor mounts, trans mount, r&r oil pan and timing cover to fix an oil leak, etc.... I have pics of all this too. Funny thing - as I'm pulling some old wiring out I was thinking "who was the butcher that did this?"...oh, wait, it was me. D'OH! Now the engine compartment is looking much more like the work that I do.
