401 AF target ratios

Anybody have any favorite ratios for this engine? I have the EZ-EFI and can program them in. Just wondering if anybody had some experience with this.

Thanks!

Matt

AFR are the same for all internal combustion engine.
You can vary them a little but an engine runs at 14.7:1. The O2 sensor will take care of that unless you tell the system to set it at something else.
Then for PE-power enrichment, which is the AFR at WOT you should be about 12.5:1.

Most system you can set at what throttle position or the amount of throttle change for wnen it actually come in.

The only way to fine tune the WOT afr is to put it on a dyno or get a dashboard dyno. But timing will also have to be optimized.

I'm kind of surprised that a fully self tuning system needs to be told what AFR to run.
Expecially for the price.

It doesn't need to be programmed at all! You can tweak the mixtures if you want to, just looking for some useful input to see if anybody else found a sweet spot.

If the engine burns all the fuel that is injected in without excess then that is the sweet spot.
For normal operation on an engine it's 14.7:1 AFR.

WOT is as described prior.

Too much fuel you'll lose power, too little and it'll run hot with the potential for engine damage.

Stick with what Bill USN-1 posted.

Here's a decent starting point for an AFR table, it for MS but an AFR table is an AFR table....

tech guy said to go to:

13.9
13.4
13.0

went for a quick spin and she ran strong. Should only get better with time as the system "learns". BTW, I am at 4000 feet in elevation.
