Well, you found some good from it. Congrats on that.
Did something REALLY stupid!

Spent all weekend working on the thing...
Now THIS is what brake fluid is supposed to look like. Not the green tinted, tiny blank chunk, dirty looking crap that came out when flushed it!
It's back on 4 wheels again, with working brakes, and DAMN the 3.73s are FUN!
My attempt @ regearing was a success, no odd noises.
I think it's quieter than the 2.93 rear axle that came out AND it survived the burnout test 3 times. LOL
Get some weird looks from folks hanging a 4500lb station wagon sideways smoking the hell out of the tires for some reasonTony

hey tony how did you bleed the master cylinder? did you do the vice method with hand formed tubes going back the the plastic reservoir? or just pumping the fluid thru AKA brake bleeding?
that is impressive to re-gear oneself... i would not be brave enough to try it
glad you are back on the road, i would be interested in a pic of the 2 nearly identical bottles that caused this headache....unless there were other bottles involved

The bottle is long gone, I threw the thing away, I was pissed.
Both were exact same size/shape 1qt all black bottles.
No other bottles were involved I don't/can't drink any longer due to all the meds I'm on.
