    J-20 REAR AXLE SHAFT

I need one rear axle shaft for the " centered Dana 60 " vs. the offset unit. The axle shaft I need is about 36inches long from the spline end to the inner flange lip

The flange that bolts to the hub on our J-20s is much smaller in diameter and bolt-pattern than most other D60 full-float rear axles, including the Dodge axles, so even if the shaft was the same length and splines, it might not bolt to the hub.

Our axle uses the same flange-size as the D60s used on Chevy trucks up through '72, when they were replaced by GM's own 14-bolt axle. You'd have better luck finding a compatible axle shaft from one of those applications, but to be honest, another J-20 axle will be your best bet.

              AXLE SHAFT

I agree that a Jeep axle would be the best but have not despite my best efforts found one. I still have time since the project is not yet rolling but looks like I will have to send my sample axle out to have one made.
