seat upholstery

Ok, finishing up on the Cherokee, heard it run for the first time in 2 years, now to finish installing everything.

I need seat upholstery. It is a 1983 Cherokee wide track, I am being told that the katskinz covers that bj's sells will not fit, however the seats appear the same minus the head rest and of course they fold forward where the wagoneer seats don't. Has anyone actually tried to install them on the Cherokee style seats?

Are there any other commercially available options I am missing in my searches?

I've thought of just getting corbeau rs seats, but would like to keep the factory seats if possible.

Local upholstery shops are non existant, and while I can take them to the local amish upholstery guy, I've had mixed results in the past with durability.

Yeah, at the cost of upholstery these days, much more cost efficient to buy a new seat you like.

Yeah I found that out, I think I will be happier in the long run this way, I may still have rear seat covered to match the front, but I haven't had the rear seat in in at least 4 or 5 years anyway. They are all black and grey so it may match allright for what little use it gets. I was set on katskinz covers, but finding a decent set of wagoner seats local.... that was another non existent feat...

And I refused to pay the same for marine vinyl from someone local as the leather...

I have the ability to sew my own, however time is extremely lacking and I am just ready to get this back on the road.

When they arrive Thursday time permitting I hope to do an extensive write up on the install as they should be bolt in, and hopefully give the community a good option.

Well... seats sit great, they are a semi bolt in... had to drill 2 holes in the factory power bases, but this put them too high for my comfort, so add $240 for direct fit manual bases from corbeau that should put them back at factory height.

Sorry about the lack of updates. Seats are in. I did end up using corbeua brackets. I'll try to get some pictures up.

Lack of updates because life got in the way and I decided to install fuel injection.... Omg, did that ever wake it up. I had carb dialed in to what I thought was perfect but man is it night and day differance.
