Tail light and reverse light to body gasket ?

Anybody have an idea of what I can use to replace the gasket on these lights. It is the one that is between the light housing and the body of the jeep. Thanks in advance and alll help welcomed!!!!!

You can buy the gaskets from BJ's (or maybe TGW, cant remember) for certain year fsj's. Unfortunately no one lists them for my 89 as I need them also.

I see them at both places mentioned for lens to housing but nothing for housing to body. I figured if I found a solution for my 83 it might help a few folks out also.

there are none - I used plumbers putty, just roll out a long bead, squish it down with the mounting nuts and use your fingernail to remove the squeeze-out

Awesome! Just checked off one of the question marks left remaining on my '72 restoration. Thanks for the tip.

I love just reading threads on this site! Was wondering what we would do as ours are no good. Thanks for all the great ideas.

Cut the flat part off of the gasket and was left with just the round part, then used trim adhesive to glue it on.

I also have good info on a rubber edge guard with a long flange on one side. I put it all the way around the tail light housing. It looks original. It is in my build thread (Another 70 wagoneer) Sorry I can't find the page right now. Satellite phone and internet guy is here and I need to shut down for the conversion.

Some good solutions posted though....

I found it on your build thread.

1/32" Rubber Edge Trim 69J 1/32 X 1/2 & 1/8 Black U Channel

I'll try both and see which I like best.

Thanks!
