    Steering Rag Joint Delete

I was going through a salvage yard the other day and noticed that a XJ steering shaft is really close to the late model GW shaft but without the rag joint. (84-96 XJ)
The top joint on the shafts are different so I slid both apart. I was able to use the stock wagoneer upper shaft and the XJ lower shaft.

Good thinking. The XJ shaft should cost about as much as a new rag joint at reasonable salvage yards.

This is good info! I've been meaning to replace the joint on my '88 for a while now, this would be a much better option!

Very cool. i have to replace my steering box soon so I may as well do this at the same time. I'm sure that rag joint in there is original.
