Hard to say. Depends on how thick/ beefy the design and material is. Probably too thin/ weak because those are designed to be used in tension, not compression.

It also depends on their length. If they are too long, you are going to end up with bad caster and your steering will become flightly feeling.

They are 1/8" thick look stronger than stock and its only for 1" drop so it might be okay. just looking for a different option besides bj's cuz of price and time in transit. every time i order from them it takes atleast two weeks to get it.

It looks like a possibility, how much is it supposed to lower the truck. that will tell how much it will raise the front minus a half inch I think. Are they for 2.5 inch wide springs? Hmmmm....you got me curious now.

it said it was for 1" or 2" depending on the bolt hole placement. they were 49.99 and thats alot cheaper than bj's. i will do a little more research on them and see what i can find out. i found a web site but it wasnt very helpful. http://www.sup-auto.com/catalogs/rideeffex.pdf

search the archives for a bit. When I was hunting info on how to do a cheap lift on my 73 I came a cross a couple of short threads with those mentioned. If I remember right, both guys wound up twisting them or having them break offroad.

A lot cheaper than what BJ's Offroad offers? It's only a $25 difference, and that's before the IFSJA discount. (Yes, I know you'll have to pay shipping. Order some other things, too, and it won't be so bad!) I've always received my orders quickly, never more than 3-4 days and they've usually shipped in 1-2 business days.

Going CHEAP with shackles is NOT a good idea. Remember, they hold your suspension together which in turn is holding your front wheels securely. Personally, I like having my steering intact.

Save up if you need to and get the beefier shackles.

I used those once and they allowed the front suspension to flex laterally too much...and I lost steering feel like Stuka mentioned. But I think I was on the last hole.

If they are 1" lower for a ford/chevy, that means they are closer to 1.75" on an FSJ. Which is really pushing it. I personally would not run shackles that long up front.

I never get anything I order from them in under 2 weeks. Doesn't matter if its as small as a NSS or the size of a bumper. Its at least 2 weeks if not more waiting for parts. I am not trying to down bj's i love their selection and if I wasn't on the east coast then I'm sure it wouldn't be that way. like you said 25$ difference plus shipping is almost what these cost. They looked sturdy enough I just wanted to see if anyone had tried these out and what their opinions were. I agree completely on having sturdy steering/suspension components because the last thing i want is to have something like that come apart while I am driving.

BJ's 1" lift shackles are worth the coin. I bought them, waited forever, and finally installed them. They come with new bushings and have a super sweet finish on them. They are stinkin' BEEFY! They will throw off caster so beware of that!

When I got my Cherokee it had GM lowering shackles on the front, and the steering was really twitchy above 30.
