    lockers 1972 wagoneer

Hi, after getting stuck a couple of times even with the rather soft off roading that I do with the old girl I would like to put lockers in my 1972 Wagoneer. Currently there are none. I am planning to keep her mostly stock otherwise.

I am planning to keep the stock axles (Dana 44 30 spline rear and Dana 30 27 spline closed knuckles front, both 3.73). Transfer case for this year is a Dana 20.

Will the typical lockers sold today for this axle type and spline count fit? I was thinking of manual lockers with electric actuators by ARB, Eaton or OX. I have read a lot about Does anybody have recommedations?

    Thank you!

For part-time selectable electric or air lockers you're probably limited to the big buck brands like ARB etc. For conventional lockers or LSD's call Randy's Ring and Pinion in Everette, WA. They'll know what's available. Even today D44's are still very commonly used diffs.

Not selectable, but I've had very good luck with Detroit Trutracs (Torsen geared type, no clutches to wear). They are completely invisible on the road and they engage smoothly when needed, without any driver input.

Not the best for a rockcrawler (will not actuate with a wheel in the air unless you tap the brakes), but for what I do, I'm very pleased with how they work. This winter I am yet to engage the front axle in my XJ.

I have the Truetrack in my front axle and I love it.
For the rear axle I plan to install e-locker.

See my video of the TruTrack engaging on 3:20 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WeqPQe7-RLA&t=227s

Per my signature line, both my E-lockers came from Randys; the front is a closed knuckle 44, not a 30. There is a build number on your axle tube near the diff that you may use to search for info about availability.
          Good luck, I love mine.
