    well

Your color is darker that it was when it came out.
This is supposed to be close.

I've only heard this works no experience. It's dark.

If you can't make it better why waste your time. No use repeating the orignal mistakes. I'm to old to push it that's why.

I went o Sherwin Williams auto paint store. They looked up the factory color and mixed me a quart. Sold me reducer and spray prep and adhesion promoter. I used a Harbour Freight $10 detail gun. I cleaned it really really well and painted my dash, ac, and steering column. It worked really well, and I'm not really a good painter. I think you could do the console easily. I spent about $200 total.

              Color-bond #648

The best solution for our "Cordovan" is Color-bond #648, a near-perfect match... Example where used it on the interior rear window trim:

Restore, customize or repair your car at half the cost of a pro with ColorBond Paint. ColorBond products won't crack, chip, or peel and are OEM certified.

I was told that the Ford King Ranch Red was a good match:

However, after buying it and painting my dash, it came out too red (not dark enough). Seems more like a match to the earlier '80s GW Garnet rather than the later Cordovan.

Fortunately, I have a nice replacement dash waiting on me to put in...

648 was spot-on for my Cordovan... Important to use a dark base.

Hmmm... I coated my Cordovan dash with the ColorBond adhesion promoter and then 3 coats of the Ford King Ranch 648. It perfectly matches the rear seat belt housings (came 3 point harnesses from an early '80s Wagoneer) but a good bit lighter than the original dash...
