help me figure what to do with the J10

So, the J10 has a crappy motor leaks all over, oil and exhust gas, is very tired and doogy.

I was thinking of plopping a stroker in there, but i don't know if i want to put that kind on money infront of an automatic.

Then i read Knuckleheads resto thread and thought about my 93 xj which is reaching the end of it's useful lifespan. It's very rusty, needs a radiator, fornt bearing (pricy) and axle seals. 195k on the clock. It's a 242/ax15/231, like knuckleheads.

So i guess here are my options, please help me decide:

    1. sell xj and finance new stroker for the J10(have block, head crank and rods)

    2. drop tired 4.0 into the J10 in front of exsisting trans/xfer

    3. drop the whole xj drive line into the J10 and rage it until i can bail the stroker out of the machine shop

any option puts more power into the J10, which is key, but i am suspect of the ax15. Also, i have a fresh rebuilt 727 on in the garage waiting for the J10 or J20 to blow on up, and a spare 208 for the same reason. So, what would you guys do?

    Joe,

I'd sell the XJ and spend the money for the stroker. Even if the stroker motor winds up being more denero than you feel like spending, you'd still have the funds to have the 258 rebuilt.
