What is this piece and where does it go?

Hi everyone,

I'm putting my 76 Cherokee back together and have a piece I can't identify. Your help is greatly appreciated.

It's chrome as you can see below:

Looks like a trim piece that goes on the top side of the door panel. Door panel slides up into the groove.

At least that is exactly what the ones on our 89 look like.

I'd show you a pic but mine are not on yet.

If you already have the 4 door panel trim pieces then someone with a Cherokee will have to tell you where it goes.

If you don't have the 4 door panel trim pieces then you might be missing 3.

Look at the top of the door just below the window and see if it will line up with the holes in the door.

You could throw that one away. Then you'd have a matching set.

HAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!

I just installed that part on my passenger door. You can see it here:

The moisture barrier was not "sealed" behind that trim piece (that trim piece holds the moisture barrier in place at the top) and it is also what sets where the door card needs to sit. Here's my door with the door card in place, inside that trim piece at the top.
