Door glass lifter channel

I did some searching and didn't come up with anything that really addressed what I'm looking for. So I need to replace all four glass channels and they aren't being made and NOS supplies seem to have dried up. So I was wondering a few things:

1)Is there a glass channel from some other vehicle that will work directly, or with minor mods?

2)Is the tailgate channel the correct width for use with door glass? If so the new units from BJ's could probably be modded pretty easily.

3)Short of searching out good used ones, I guess hand fabbing new ones is the only option remaining or did I miss one?

I'd really rather get new ones than clean up used ones, that's why I left that as the last option. Also I'm dealing with manual window doors, if that changes things.

The part desired, if I understand correctly, is the "lifter channel" or "lift channel" - the piece that cradles the bottom edge of the glass and which articulates with the regulator. There are 4 of these, one for each window.

I agree that it looks like used parts will be the option unless something new/NOS shows up on ebay. Save a search for "lift channel" and "lifter channel" and see what shows up.

There are also the "slide channels" which are available new, but I gather these are not what you need.

Those lift channels are available new (reproduction). I found an NOS one in Cali a couple of yrs ago and thought I should buy a spare but they only had one for left side. (J20).
I came across the repros later but don't remember who is making them.

I'll check my fav listings.

If you come up with a source let's make this a sticky.

Last week I tried to roll down my window and the bottom part of the lifter just tore out. It was total rust and amazing it held up that long. Luckily there wasa '74 in the vineyard with good glass. $32 for entire window!
