Good lordy, that looks awesome. The trim shines a lot. You have more patience than me. And I agree, it looks perfect next to the black carbon fiber. Sweeeet is all I can say.

So are you officially in "shake down"? where you are driving it around and fixing any bugs? What's left to do? Do you have a list of things that still need done?Chuck McTruck 71 J4000

Thanks all, If I need help on the hood clips I will send a pm Wagoneer Taylor.
I have a little over 300 miles right now. I drove it to Metairie which is a suburb of New Orleans about a week ago. Went to a cruise night. It was not fun, never had any problems, just nervous driving a 70 mile round trip on an unproven Wagoneer. 24 of that was on the Lake Ponchartrain Causeway bridge which at one time was the worlds longest bridge over water. Anyway, the more I drive it the better I feel about it. Jake and I were going to Cruisin The Coast, but this Hurricane, I think is going to cancel those plans. Really just been driving it around town. Mileage is not good. 9.6 miles to the gallon. Things that need to be done.
1. Headliner and my sun visors need to be redone.
2. 7 pieces of stainless need to be installed
3. Hood is a shade off, but might not ever get repainted, possible winter project
4. slight oil leak, possible rear main. If it gets worse, I will look into it.
5. It drives straight, but want to get the alignment checked.
6. All I can think of right now.1978 Wagoneer

I have had that nervous feeling before,...
...you feel like each voyage is the maiden voyage,
....( possibly of the titanic.... )
sounds like it is doing real good for you,....
you did a fine detailed restoration,
and that is going to pay off in fewer problems.
one thing for sure ,
you know how to fix anything that comes up,...
...cause you built it.

Holy smokes! I am not sure anybody said it was stunning yet. So I will say it. Some serious eye candy there... I too really like the carbon fiber strip. I bet you are getting a ton of second glances.Melford1972 says...
I’d say I feel sorry for you, but I really don’t, Mr. “I-stumble-into-X-models-the-way-most-people-stumble-into-Toyota-Carollas.” 🤣

Chuckled at your "no fun drive" to the car show...
The infamous shake down runs where you sorta know everything is OK, but you haven't really driven it a lot, or far yet. Been there.
Good for you! Take the risk and go for it .. you did, and your work is paying off. It's not yours 'til ya bleed on it . . . https://forums.ifsja.org/core/images...s/rolleyes.png

Alright, the outside is done! Finished with all the stainless trim. also did the first oil change at 488 miles. I have a rear main seal leak that is going to get worked on at some point, but not right now. Might order the headliner next month. We could not have finished it without all the great people on this site!!! Thanks for all the help. Here are a few pics from this weekend.

great photos
looks very nice and classy.
but I want to request one more,....
full straight on side shot, the profile of the wag.
so I can see the entire side at once in all of its splendor.
great job.
