Blown7 ...

I didn't post much on the wiring cause that's not my area of expertise ...
All it took was a 04 Durango throttle body mated to the 6.1. Wa la.. cable drive. Ran a 5.7 hemi cal modified some to run the 6.1 engine. Used a WJ [ you know what that is ?? ] computer. That had a trans cal already.. that ran the 545 trans. And oh.. it ran ok, but not perfectly..

When the Jeep moved on, I arraigned a shop to convert ALL the engine/trans control items to their aftermarket setup.
Why? Because I KNEW if there were ever any issues, the current owner would NEVER figure it out. It ran well, but not to full potential.

After the aftermarket guy converted this thing.. it became a beast.

Why the huge drive for a cable throttle body? There's lots of neat things you can do with them. Everyone just swaps the dbw pedal and is happy. The only reason I went cable is because my Holley HP wouldn't support the dbw tb.

I do remember that.. just don't remember asking to lock it when it reopened.

BUT - That's OK. Glad it's still here.

Thanks. Next build is under way.

When I bought my 79 Chief, here is how my thoughts went down

T-3 days (T=day I bought it) Saw it on Craigslist,
-"OOOoohhh they made Grand Wagoneers in 2 doors?!? Wow! If a 4 door Grand Wagoneer is selling for $25k, I bet a 2 door one would sell for twice that!!!"
T-2 Days Talked to the seller
-"Well he says its a turd but I can fix it! I am excited! I am going to make so much money on this!!!
T, My rig being towed on a flatbed behind my wife's pathfinder
-Wow, this is worse than I thought. But it has a 401 and it's a 2 door. I can still flip it. It's pretty cool... I hope the wife doesn't divorce me over this
T+1 Week
- These wide track Cherokees are worthless. Why did I buy this thing?! I am buried. Maybe I will part it out...
T+2 weeks Stumbled across this thread. This EXACT thread:
-"HOLY CRAP!!! I AINT NEVER SELLING THIS THING!! IMA GONNA MAKE MINE LOOK LIKE THAT!!!!"

No joke. first time I wanted to bail on my truck, this build turned that around. I cannot tell you how many times I have sent pictures of this rig to friends when they ask "Why did you buy that?". My answer is usually "Cuz they can look like this:

And just like that, cu4whln's head just popped. It really was a nice rig. I still stay in contact with the guy that bought it. Well, mostly.

Thanks Rang !

That's funny logic right there!
Sometimes, as I am working on my current Cherokee.. I let out a string of words no one should hear..

These are frustrating and rewarding rigs at the same time....
Sometimes I just walk away for a few days to recover my sanity and drive.

Funny, I have been watching your build thread very closely btw.

Silly Post Pending . . .

Well, it is finally happening...

I have been watching my old thread, and had noticed it had the most views of any thread I have seen on here ...

BUT - It's about to lose that first place ranking !

This thread is now within 500 views of my old one !

Oh well.. lol
