Hi Pitched Whirring Sound NEW SOUND TO ME

When my GW is coasting along on the highway and I take my foot off the gas, I can hear a very distinct very steady hi pitched whirring sound. When I hit the accelerator, it stops. It doesn't seem to slow down with decrease in speed.
The only new thing on my GW is a new fan clutch and fan blade.
Any thoughts on what makes this sound?

Does it do it all the time? I would think if it was the fan clutch it would speed up and slow down with speed and cycle on and off when the clutch engages. Pop the fan off and drive it around the block and see if it does it. Does it do it while parked with the engine revved up?

Whirring sound, or a sort of buzz/hum kind of thing? A manifold vacuum leak can make a sort of buzz, that would be most audible when you let off the gas at speed, when manifold vacuum would be highest.

        Manifold

It doesn't vary at speed. It is the most apparent when I let my foot off the gas.
The only other thing I know about that isn't good is that I've got a cracked exhaust manifold on the driver side.
I will try to check the manifold vacuum.

Are you running the A/C? Blower motors can make a whirring noise.

a worn out fan clutch can damage a water pump bearing. Any play in the fan? water dripping from weep hole?

Are you suggesting that the same fan clutch that I just replaced my have damaged the water pump bearing?

I am getting lots of water leaking from right above the passenger floor pan. I thought it was the AC Evaporator hose, but that's cleared. Talking to an AC/Radiator house, they suggested that the Evaporator case is broken and water is pooling there. It's being checked tomorrow.

Have not looked at the water pump bearing or the pinion bearing but the sound is consistent with a bearing as it seems to be whirring from something circular.
                    Too even a sound.
