I plan on doing this swap but with 6.5 mech inj. td. My only advise for this is never use a block that came from GM, only use GEP blocks. I have gotten mine from Teds trucks n stuff and he sells 6.2 as well from military takeout program. I have not had any issues with their engines. I don't believe mine have ever been used.

Thanks for that. I am getting my transmission adapter from Novak, so I guess they will get the nod for the motor mounts too. You specified the "classic" mounts worked better?

Bryan I just noticed that the Novak motor mount kit is 100.00 more expensive than the Advance adapters kit. Is is 100 bucks better?

Allow me to be clear: I am just passing along information from projects that other members have posted here.
I have not not performed this swap (yet) or used these products.
However, I was a mechanical designer in a previous life, so I would like to think I know a little something.
Please understand these are my thoughts and opinions.
          Your mileage may vary.

To answer your question, are the Novak Mounts worth the extra cabbage?
          IMHO, Yes.
The Novak mounts seems to be engineered better, not generic in nature.
If you look at the AA mount, they are adjustable with slots.
I personally do not care for that.
What is the keep that from sliding under the torque of the engine?
Can one tighten the fastener enough to keep it in place?

I would like rigidity in my motor mounts.
I do not want my engine sliding to the passenger side of the engine bay when I make a spirited left hand turn.

I see that the Novak mounts has a few holes in the down leg of their product.
I am guessing with grade 8 hardware, that would be fine...
...but with the overkill thinking I have...once I got the mount all positioned the way I liked it, I would remove them and have it all welded up.

I had this in mind as well. That was really the basis for the question. I don't mind paying for a better product. Thanks

I've been looking at a van with a 6.2 sitting in front of a 700r4. Runs and drives. Seriously thinking of tearing it apart for a swap.

that would be a very good combo. All the good and none of the bad of a diesel. I would jump on that.
