Just put some new mirrors on the Wag.

A good friend of mine asked if I could tow his pontoon boat. I couldn't refuse, mostly because I wanted to hang out on said boat. I really needed some new mirrors. The factory mirrors I had left a lot to be desired, they were small and nonfunctional, a perfect time to upgrade.

I had to machine a new base and make some gaskets.

Overall, I really like the way they look, I haven't decided what color they should be. I'm leaning towards the same satin black as the bumpers.

Great idea! Can you elaborate a bit more on the machining of the base! I really like this idea bud!

Would you be interested in making other mounting brackets for GW mirrors? Thanks

                  Any chance of building more?

I would be interested in a set of the mounts you machined, if you are interested in selling some more.

Besides the cool mirrors, nobody's going to mention the hood scoop? Care to elaborate on that for us?

                        Thankyouverymuch.

Wow, thanks for the response. I've been getting slayed at work or I would have posted sooner. All the functions work, blinkers power mirrors and they even fold in when I have to park in a city parking garage. It's also a big plus to be able to see traffic around me.

The two piece bases are made from 6061 aluminum with a gasket cut from 1/4" epdm (rubber). I was able to use the factory mounting hardware and location although it seems to be slightly different from side to side.

The hood scoop is...well, it is what it is. I have it because a couple of summers ago I noticed some bubbling paint on the hood. Like an idiot, I scraped some off and opened a gigantic can of worms. I guess at one point the P.O. ran into something and put a sizable dent in the hood. After some further investigating, I found it was starting to rust under the filler. Long story short I did some yard work had a couple of beers and cut my hood up for some reason.

I have to do some reinforcing, the hood flexes to much. I had to grind into it to stop some cracking and never got around to repainting. I'm probably just going to put on a "new hood" if I can find one close for a good price.

I would love to put a set of these mirrors on my Jeep. Interested in selling me a pair of those mirror adapters?
