I have emailed the KOA. As we do know the KOA is not the place to party.....but yet facilities would be nice to have. I was thinking if it is possible to reserve sites 10-18 on this map. I will see what they say. http://www.lascrucescampgrounds.com/site1.html

Las Cruces KOA

Okay here is the update. I received and email back from Leah the Las Cruces Manager. It states::::

Good Morning,

I wanted to follow-up my voice mail message with a quick email.

I very likely am able to accommodate your group nut will need to have a few questions answered before I can answer for certain.

What type of camping is needed - RV sites, camping cabins, tenting?
If RV sites, can you provide me (an approximation is fine) the type of units and their lengths?
How many people will be in each unit/site?
Will any party have pets (dogs/cats/etc) on-board?

Thanks in advance for this information. I look forward to working with you on your groups needs.

Have a great day!

Leah Simpson, Manager

So as it stated...I will keep everyone updated.

I am just saying what my experience is... KOA Ouray HOLDs sites for us until a certain date (end of December), not actually reserve them. Then each individual can make the reservations and answer the questions Leah sent. I made the same type of arrangements to hold rooms at the Timber Ridge Lodge in Moab this Spring.

This saves a lot of foot work of an "organizer" trying to solicit info and reserve all the sites as a group. Each individual is ultimately responsible for the arrangements and payment with the KOA. If people book a site, fine - if not, fine. Just my take on this...

That is exactly what I am working out Flint. Once we have the sites saved then I will give everyone all the contact information to make their own reservations. I will keep you all updated.

No worries Flint. You have more experience with this than I do. KOA's as a corporate rule do not hold spots or reserve spots with out down payment of some sort for groups. Or at least that is what I have been told by an email I received, so I emailed the manager direct. Seems it is going to work out better that way. Oh and if anyone wants to take this and run with it go for it......this is a group deal, and I work 10-13 hrs a days this time of year so my time is very limited. So all the help we can get to make this event or gathering come together the better it will be. Cannot wait till October.....

Wish I could, my time is like yours.
Was just informed today the weekend of Aug 23/24 is a no go.
I will be in Silver the following weekend with the Nissan, Labor Day, I'll be happy to drive down to Las Cruces and check out the KOA/Take Pic's/Etc.

Sweet! Now to get the rest of my stuff done. Gears, Hydro assist steering, driveshafts, move lower shock mounts. Maybe new set of tires. I think I can get all that done in time. Might even start the cage. I'm going to be busy for a few months!
