    Waggy question

I am looking at a waggy not too far from here. There is some damage to the rear roof area where the window mates to the body.

Do you think this is repairable such that it could be made functional (I'm not concerned with looks just function and watertightness)?

It doesn't look like the groove for the weatherstripping is damaged; the rear window should seal just fine. Remove the access panel and push up on the window from below, to see how it seals.

I guess the tailgate is damaged too so it will need to be replaced.

It is a nice 78 Waggy with a 401/TH400/QT/D44's and is really clean for $1400 but I don't know if it would be worth fixing after the cost of the tailgate.

What does a tailgate usually cost?

      Thanks.
