They came in some 1980 International Scout II's which are considerably larger than CJ's especially the 118" wb Terra and Traveler models.

There's a bone stock d300 in this rig. He broke the case in half (was the result of a bad mount) but has never broken anything else in the d300.

              had two d300's in fsj's

one in my current chief running a 401 4.10s 33's and 5spd towing a fair amount and the other is in my old j20 with a 401 and 36's both were stock t-cases both have been wailed on the j20 is still going 15 years later in montana on a ranch pulling irrigation lines everyday and then rock crawling when not being used for that, last i heard the new owner put a 4:1 gear set in it and had up graded to a detroit in the front also but still was running stock inputs and outputs.

the cherokee has a little nicer life but still tows alot i did swap in a 32 spline tailhousing recently i did that for the oportunity to utilize the flange style CV

I like the D300 over the 205 in a FSJ because you can clock it up where as the np205 hangs down so far. also i like the size of it because that allows for better routing of the exhaust and the ability to twin stick it, FSJ's should have had twin sticks fromt eh factory.

A dana 300 will explode instantly if it is within 10 feet of an FSJ.

                  I have one in my J10. sm420/dana300 and 33's.

My J20 is equipped with a D300 that has 32 spline shafts, 1410 yokes, 4:1 kit, twin sticks, and a solid aluminum mount (1/4") to a custom crossmember (that has rubber bushings). The solid mount has been the only way I can avoid breaking ears on the slip yoke.

No mine is fine. Been there for several years (although I admittedly don't get out that much).

I am just using poor internet sarcasm. I have heard soooooo many times how the dana 300 won't hold up in an FSJ.

What about trans clearance? I remember reading something about issues hitting the pan on a 727. Are any of you guys running this trans? If so, how have you dealt with this problem?

Also, what yokes are you running?
