I'm getting long in the tooth and jumping in and out of my lifted FSJ's is getting difficult (and impossible for my wife)...Has anybody adapted powersteps from a later model truck? I don't want fixed steps hanging down in the breeze. I tried to convince Rock Slide Engineering to build a version of theirs...no luck so far. Anybody pulled it off or is considering it?
Anybody install powersteps?

It'll take some searching in the build threads here but there was a feller building a truck who made some power steps and said he was going to market them. Was Army green but I think it was a J-something or other if I recall correctly.
Last post was probably more than two years ago.Sic friatur crustulum

Was hoping when I seen the thread that there was something done already, I love them things. Crawled under a few trucks with them to see how they mounted, doable, but I don't want to mount them to the rockers like they do. I'm not a fan of welding mounts to the frame either but that is what I'll be doing.Current fleet

Wow! Those look SOOOooooo much better than I was envisioning!!! My wife would LOVE those on my rig (she's a shrimp so she has a tough time getting in, even though i am not really lifted).
What is the part number for those and how do we find them? What is the install like? I assume you run 12v to them, a good ground, and they use the door light switch to know when to come down/go up? Do they come with their own switch? How much do they weigh? Are they pretty rugged? I wouldn't expect them to be rock slider rugged but would they at least stand up to some battering? Do you bolt them to the floor boards or behind the rockers? How many holes did you have to drill?Chuck McTruck 71 J4000

I've always wanted to do the power steps as well since I'm not tall to begin with and it would really help my kids too. I looked into the power steps by bestop. They work via a wifi type signal, but I've read that there can be issues with these steps. I however do prefer the AMP steps and this configuration looks fantastic!
I would also love to see a write up with maybe a part number of the steps used. But I'm very curious of how these were mounted and more importantly how they were wired up.Tim
