a few questions swapping out 360 in 401

so i have a complete 401 from a 76 wagoneer i want to swap into my 79 cherokee wt that has a 360. so a few questions.

will the exhaust manifolds from the 360 bolt up to the 401?

the alternator and ac brackets are different between the 76 401 and 79 360. will all the accesories from the 360 bolt onto the older 401?

i know the ignition on the 401 is differnt. it has and external voltage regulator etc. will the distributor from the 360 work on the 401 so i can run the 79 ignition system. (and eventually tfi)

will the motor mounts in the 79 360 work to bolt up the 401?

i will be swapping in the complete engine and tranny so the flex plat is already in there and correct.

anything else i should know or think about

It is a 100% bolt in swap. Though the Accesory holes on the 401 in the heads will be different size than that of the 79 360. That is due to a year thing. However everything you need is going to swap without any problems............. Well more or less [img]tongue.gif[/img]

ok so the only thing i want to double check is the distributor as they are visably different. the 79 36 is a larger distributor than the 76 401

Distributor will swap, that is what you need to do.
