Getting ready for the engine swap this weekend. Picked up the new engine from Adam at Jeep Recyclers today. He’s got a cool shop, plenty of FSJs and parts, and was an all around cool dude to talk to!

I’m going to pull the heads on the new motor and check the valves, maybe get em cleaned up. Compression is really low, like 60 or so on two cylinders.
Blowing air through got some more pressure, so i think something is dirty and needs looked at/cleaned up

I got the driver window in. Still need to vacuum out the broken glass from the bottom of the door. And I broke the window handle rolling it up and down to loosen the old felt/rubber jams up. So, yea, vice grip handle now in affect

While Im waiting on the heads to get reworked I might as well start fitting up the razor grill and round headlights...

Is the engine in? The front looks really tall... I think the razor grill looks better with a 1 piece bumper.

The hood is off the hinges just sitting. Still need to get the heads to the shop to get cleaned/valves reseated.

Today i got the heads back from the machine shop. And tonight we buttoned the engine up. Tomorrow we will be stabbing it in

Stop! you have the motor out and heads off, did you pull the pan and check the bearings? Your this far, I would replace the bearings and rings since your right there before I put it in the truck, very cheap insurance...

Nope, moving on, motor looks rebuilt from various parts and pieces. This is just a temp motor anyways
