    Double Cardan U-Joints

I was searching for U-joint info in the archives here and found mention of double cardan u-joints. I do not have these on my 77 Cherokee QT but am curious - which FSJ's used these joints and where on the vehicle?

You should have one... Look at the joint on your front driveshaft closest to your QT case...

Look at cu4whln's thread. He had a shaft made with two of them.

But as rang said they are usually at the trans end of the shaft.

Yep, you're right. Found it hiding behind the grease ball.

If not maintained or repaired in time, they can come apart and the driveshaft will likely whack a hole in the side of your transmission case. Pretty common for your vintage of Cherokee. Be aware.

What he said. I am a driveshaft guy and had it happen to me back in the day.
