Even a 12 year old can..

Break into my FSJ. Yes my son is starting on his way into a life of crime! I was out of town for the night and he left his iTouch in the Jeep. I told him to use a coat hanger and jimmy the door but he figured out that he could slip the coat hanger in between the door and the weather gasket and loop the end around the lock. It only took him about 5 minutes. Pretty smart if you ask me. Now I know not to leave anything of value inside the Jeep.

What do you guys do to keep your truck more secure?

    Thanks
    Ed

I can break into mine with a pair of glasses (sometimes key challenged here). I try not to leave anything out in sight that might attract prying eyes, sort of hard to do for the most part with all that glass.

tuffy security console, gun safe, removable stereo face plate.

The cherokee is a little more 'showy' with it's bright red paint job/lift and tires. The waggy, by the end, wasn't something that looked like it was worth breaking into. I kept figuring that one day someone was going to leave a dollar or two under the window wipers.

I use Tad's approach first and foremost. Out of sight, out of mind is my first point of defense. Locks are just a deterent.

                    two things

Don't park it in dangerous areas.
Don't teach anyone to break into it.

BTW if the theif wants in it & you make it difficult to get into it will just get torn up more. It's always great to add insult to injury when they tear up your rig & then steal your stuff. A theif doesn't have any respect for your property.

If you can't make it better why waste your time. No use repeating the orignal mistakes. I'm to old to push it that's why.

I subscribe to the adage of not parking in bad areas and not leaving anything in it worth stealing...it's next to impossible to make these old rigs hard to break into...so your best bet is not to give anyone a reason to want to...

A big, black rottweiler works good for me to keep the riff-raff out. When he barks, people back up.

Don't even need to lock the doors when he's inside.
