If you can't make it better why waste your time. No use repeating the orignal mistakes. I'm to old to push it that's why.

i hope you enjoy rough running and stalls on warmup, cuz that's what you're gonna get with all the engine control systems adjusted for hot air on warmup.'72 Jeep Wagoneer Custom, 360 V8
I love how arguements end as soon as Ristow comments. Ristow is right...again.

I dont have any problems with mine either. I know it only adds to the argument but people have been running open elements for years. I really don't think that little piece of dryer ducting te factory system has with all the turbulence and the small snorkel really is that much better when your engine isn't stock anymore.Last edited by Jeepguy77; 07-30-2012, 03:57 AM.Pierce,

Disadvantages to the open-element air cleaner, aside from the cold-air hot-air point - 1. they are noisy. You will hear a sucking sound that you did not before. 2. your float bowl will dry out much faster.
On a Jeep, I would add an external foam wrap.Tim Reese

I remember pictures of intakes routed to the firewall and tapped into the vent below the window. From all I have seen this would seem to be the ideal place--no real change in pressure due to speed and a very short route to cooler outside air.
Anyone here done this or have feedback on this mod?

It may be just me but I really like the noise involved with an open air cleaner at full throttle. But I am just 21 and my j10 isn't exactly quiet The new boss mustangs have a way to direct the sound into the cabin so you can here that amazing 5.0 breathe.Pierce,
