    packing wheel bearings

After packing the bearings, should I put a big gob of grease inside the hub assembly after putting in the bearing (inner bearing)? What I did was just cover the inside of the hub assembly with a thin layer of grease and popped the packed wheel bearing in and put in the seal. Do I need more grease?

The 82 manual says to do tht for the rear axle. I don't recall it mentioning it for the front but I did it anyway.
