LOL Thats a Bulltear product not a BJs ....but it maybe sold at BJs. Its a 3 piece cover for a dry sump application. We are also working on 3 piece covers using a simple steel oil pump for replacing the OEM cover.

really though what happened to these 3 piece timing covers? not only do i think they'd be more durable, they're pretty.

I love the idea of a new/modern oil pump to replace the aluminum housing. It would also be nice to have an option for an oil pump that flows a much higher volume of oil. My build is well past the this point so I am not really in the market anymore but I would have loved it.

I am not interested in a dry sump system but I would love an improved wet sump system.

a stock timing cover in cast iron would do it.

they already are a high volume pump. they had to be because of the awful design. half the volume capabilities are lost once the alloy housing warms up and the tolerances open up.

lets not forget the oil takes about a 24" ride from the oil pan to the oil pump. great idea there.

                        brilliant!

but hey,oil pump maintenance is super easy!! look at all those dumb ford and chevy guys pulling the oil pan for "oil pump maintenance"....

also, the dizzy drive gears are about maxed out on how much load they can handle already. more oil pump volume means even more load.

All good points, Ristow. I wonder how much a cast iron cover would weigh? Or what if there was a way to machine the stock cover to fit a pressed in steel insert? would have to cover the bottom and sides...
