The Chief that I recently aquired has the Levis package, but the front seats have been swapped.. Can one of you with the Levis package post some good pics for me?
Robert,
I have a few pics of the tan levi's seats that are in my old 78 Chief WT. Shoot me an email and I'll send them to you as my pics folder is about full on the IFSJA.org forums. Thanks. My email is [email protected]
this is what they look like after a couple years...out of a '79 Golden Eagle Cherokee. The material is real thin and flimsy, I dunno what AMC was thinkin.

Robert if I had a scanner I could show you the factory brochure version of new...
I'm using Pontiac Fiero seats to replace the bench in my Levi edition J10 Honcho..so I'm reusing the buttons on the fiero seats that are gonna be recovered..they have speakers in the headrests..
Not sure If I'm gonna powdercoat the buttons, or paint them..I need more to do the door panels.

If I decide to ditch the Levis package (which I am sure I will), I will let you give ya dibs on the buttons.. Most if not all of the rear ones are there..
And actually, I think you can salvage the seat cover if it's in good shape, by taking it off, as there is a large dish style washer with an X shaped slit in it, for the buttons to snap into behind the fabric...just an FYI..on my old bench seat, I just knifed it up, since it was so far gone..
But let me know what you decide on.

Robert, I've never seen black, just the 'Jean blue' and 'tan'...That's why my J10 is gonna have a black interior with Silver or Ivory colored Levi Buttons.

Where are you finding the buttons? I am thinking about finding off-road seats with the denim patern, then making black denim door pannels (printed vinyl) with some levis butons..
Hey Robert,
I also have only seen the Levi's blue and tan interiors in AMC's & Jeeps. You could easily buy black denim material and have an interior shop custom upholster everything.
You might be able to get original Levi's blue or tan from a vintage upholstery place here in Michigan that the AMCers here know about ... here's a post from the FSJ-list I sent earlier this year. They might even have leads on the getting BLACK denim.
Re: [FSJ-List] Original Seat Cover Material (AMC/Jeep)
Hi Rick,
Thanks for the link. I don't find a listing for them in St. Clair Shores,
MI ... but there is one in Columbus, MI.
Can't get the original tan, not from Levi's anyway...BTDT. You can get close tho, and most fabric shops stock denim material so it is doable. Another option (and maybe longer lasting) would be the cotton duck material they make Carhartt jackets and pants out of.
Several colors, one being a good match for the nutmeg interiors that most of us seem to have.
