    Interesting FSJ video

Pretty entertaining video! The water pump is the worst I have ever seen! Fun 10 minutes to kill.

Man sometimes I see these old FSJ and think "why did I buy such a heap for my first project?'' The good part is that at the end of it I will have had my hands on every parts of this heap. Great learner FSJ but the video FSJ looks pretty good.

SAME HERE!!!! If I would have saved a little more money and been a little more patient I would have ended up with a much nicer starting point.

I am with you Ristow! I laughed about the comment he made about the water pump/distributor being connected, too. But that engine looks like it was filled with nasty sea water at the output of the ishima nuclear power plant! It's definitely a boat anchor after that. There's another video where they swap crusty tires on it and I think they said they paid about $400 or $800 for that rig.

The engine looks to be a boat anchor, but the Wagon is really nice. Where did all of that funk come from.

Well that was a lovely video.

I'm curious to see how bad my '88 is at this point. I'm doing a full resto on it, and just got to the point where I took the HVAC assembly out from under the dash and removed the heater core and fan motors.

Heater core was completely done with large holes blow open on the top piping, and the bypassed core hoses feel VERY crusty when squeezed. I'll likely remove the water pump at some point to inspect too, and not looking forward to it.

Why is it called a water pump as it does not pump water? Unless of course someone put water in the cooling system.

I usually get down on those who never apply themselves. None of us are born knowing this stuff; I can remember a time when changing a coolant pump was a big deal. I applaud anyone who gets their hands dirty and makes a good hearted attempt weather they succeeded or not.
