    Very Interesting Find

A while back my dad was doing a job in the northern part town, and sent me a pic of an older J truck, as I looked at the pic closer, I realized it was a J200. Well a month or so later I had to go help him with the job, and on our way back, we stopped by where the truck was and took a look at it. Its a 1967 J200, all original, only 37k original miles on it. Camper shell/Topper seemed original so did the tool boxes on the side. Only rust it had was around the front turn signals along with a bit of surface rust, but no rot whatsoever. While looking at it I found a sticker from the last oil change that was dated June 14 1986, at 35k miles, meaning the truck has only gotten roughly 1500 miles in the last 27 years. So we talked to the guy for a while, he said that his aunt bought the truck brand new, and kept it in the garage, and used it only to go fishing. When she passed away he brought it to his house, and it has sat ever since, with the exception of the guys nephew taking it to get 4 brand new tires few years back. I asked the guy if he would ever consider selling it, and his response was not right now. He mentioned that hes had so many offers from people buying it, and that he was offered as much as $10k for it, and another offer of a newer 1 ton truck, and he gets offers on it every other week, and Im thinking in the back of my head "Im sure......" . BTW he's driving the 1 ton dodge in the background of the first pic, so Im sure he turned down a large sum of money . So this truck, like others sadly, will most likely sit and rot away, but for anybody in TX, its near Lake Conroe, I will try to stop by there from time to time, and hope to save it some day, and here are some pics.

    That is an awesome Jeep.

Don't you hate that......He'll turn down 10k because the truck "means so much to him" but he'll let it rot without even touching it for years.

That is really neat. The tool boxes with the Jeep emblems make the truck!

      Thanks for sharing.

That is a great find. Ask him the story on those tool boxes- that's one I'd clear coat a flat finish on and drive it all day long.

          Keep Trying

I think he might just be feeling the offer out. It is just rotting away there........ Then again, it happens all too often.

Im sure the tool boxes along with the camper shell/topper were more than likely dealer ad-ons, but yea I thought the tool boxes were pretty cool,

Unfortunately the truck is a good ways away from me, roughly about 60 miles or so, so its not too often Ill be going around there, but every chance I get Ill stop by and ask him about it, and maybe one day get lucky,

Looks like it was painted before, on the one pic the sticker is painted over and the tag looks like it was taped and got paint on the edges. I think he wants you to offer him $10k for it.

Man that thing is cool. I want those tool boxes, I've been looking all over for a similar set to throw on my truck, never seen any with the jeep emblem on them.

the straps on the tailgate have paint overspray and so does that ball on the rear bumper. Probably more like 137,000 miles at least. There not being a hundred thousand place on the odometer. Good looking truck, think that guy added one to many zeros more like 1000 dollars.

Just awesome.. and i like also the toolboxes and the camper
Is that a winch in front ? Wondering also what's that ring on the hood ?

You are lucky, i never saw one in person
According to the VIN, actually it's a '64 with a Tornado . Would also be interesting if he got his aunt' original paperwork.

Hmmm, dont know about the overspray, maybe he tried to paint at one point. It didnt seem to have the wear and tear of a 100k mile truck though, but who knows, I know for sure the truck hasnt moved in a while being that it had brand new old tires on it. After talking with the guy I knew he thought that its worth a lot, so any reasonable offer Id give him, he would more than likely rufuse. It did seem to have a winch on one corner of the bumper, but Im not sure why it would be there. The ring on the hood I can only think of would be to hold down a canoe, but other than that Im not sure.
