    will a 360 work?

Hey all, I have a 77 Wag with a 401/TH400/quadratrac with parttime kit. My prob is that the 401 is dead. Needs complete rebuild. I was wondering if an AMC 360 will bolt to my TH400? I wanna keep the 401, but its so dammed expensive to rebuild. I plan on eventually rebuilding it, but I wanna drive my Wag now!!! You know what I mean? I've been able to find 360s for cheap all over the place. Also, was wonderin if anyone knows of inexpensive places in the central Wash st. area to find 401s or parts (i.e.: pistons, rings, bearings, gaskets, etc...). Any help would be great. Thanx.

Yes, the 360 will bolt in place of the 401.

The 360 will work. Whats wrong with the 401? PM me if you want to unload it. Keep your heads, intake, carb, etc. and pick up a rebuilt shortblock. Just buy a new timing cover.

GED, I've been to the site and seen that. a bit outta my price range. but i've been keepin it in mind.

Jeremy, the back two pistons on the pass. side are toast. the tops broke! crazy stuff. never seen nothin like it before. I don't wanna get rid of it though. it's still rebuildable. cylinder walls and heads are still good. suprized the heck outta me!

thanks all for the info. appreciate it much.
