How legal do I have to be?

If I Crackpipe done in time, I will be going to ECI. But I will not be street legal at all. No headlight, turnsignals, brakelights, etc.

Is this going to be a problem or is the entire thing on private property?

Thanks!!!

You can run "crack pipe" on the trails but not the roads...that lead to the trails. So long as you have an exhaust system and a pass. You can trailer it to the various trail heads and never leave the dirt.
To get back to camp or town you will need to trailer it. Camping is free on the trail as well. Just no facilities.

Almost forgot to add, if you are going to run at night you need to have lights. ncjeepers was told by the ranger to turn em on. He was running in blackout drive.

Bring it!!!

How far is it from the trail head to the campsite? Compared to Crawfords at Tellico, half the distance, twice the distance?

I suppose I could just use hand signals? I'm use to those!!!

Some are about a mile or 2 to the trail head. The rangers will get you if you are not legal on the road system. They really get the 4 wheelers all the time. If they see a tag, , , , , and you are not doing somthing crazy you should be OK. Lets just say that in 2004, someone had a tag on his rig and did not have a problem.

I have an open exhaust, comes back from the y-pipe about 4ft and turns down. Is this going to be any kind of problem?

The noise is not so bad, the fumes however can kinda sorta get to ya if your not used to it. But its really not that bad.

Not sure what they would say as you have no spark arrestor.

You are supposed to have a spark arrestor, but if your exhaust is long enough it may not be a problem. A muffler would be a good addition to your rig though.

Give us old people a headache with all that racket.

I have seen some open exhausts there but that doesn't mean they won't pick this week to crack down.

Hmmm...not really.
The fear of course is fire. They really need that rule for the ATVs, but 4x4s belch fire as well. You may want to consider putting a muffler on it for the ECI. If it shoots a spark at all you'll have to park it.

A $20 turbo muffler could fix that quick.
