Rookie Mistake! Options?

Total fail today. Was following Ristows very written Carb rebuild thread. Had a total failure.. Everything was going great, feeling good about myself until I over tightened one of the idle mix screws. Pushed it right into cylinder and cracked main body.. On a time and $ stand point very frustrating.. Oh well I did learn a bunch. So what now? Do I buy rebuilt Motorcraft 2150 off Rock Auto?, Find a 4barell over the 2? Or just scrap the carb idea and save for an EFI?
I really wanted to learn more about carb operations before I went EFI..
I have a rebuilt 360 ready to go. Also rebuilding trans. See how that goes!!

Anybody have an old carb body they want to sell me?

Thank!

I think you're on the right track looking for a good used carb body. I don't know anything about rock auto and who rebuilds their carb? Generally buying Mexico "dip-n-shine" rebuilt carbs from any chain auto parts store is a serious crap shoot. Yup, you guessed it you're playing against "house odds"
If'n were me I'd look for a 2150 body. As popular as 4v carb swaps are there's gotta be some avail-rebuildable take-off 2150's collecting dust on a bottom shelf in more than one FSJeepers garage.
Try the wanted section of the forum Classifieds.

Yeah, just get another 2150. I don't think you'll easily find a carb body by itself ... maybe. Or look on eBay for another 2150. There is guy on eBay that sells new 2150s for what was a reasonable price, set up for your application. Maybe that's an option for you.

I agree with buying from the guy on E-Bay, I've got one his carbs and haven't had to touch it in years. It was ready to go out of the box.

There also was a company near Blackwood NJ that some members here were very happy with for repairs when they had broken parts. Website is Carburetor USA.

No affiliation, and although its close to me, never stopped by.
