nice render! I think it would look cool with running boards and dual exhaust stacks..

Looks good, but you know a J5500 would be a very long wheel base 1/2 ton according to Jeep's model numbering.

All 2500/3500/4500 trucks where 1/2 tons. 28,38,4800's would be 1-tons, so I guess yours would be a J4900 (assuming you still have a stock wheel base).

Na this would be more like a 5500 as Ram5500/GM 5500/Ford 550 series size truck, it won't be no 1ton it'll be a 1-1/4-1-1/2 ton type truck 14-16K-LB GVWR with 7-8ft bed.

edit:
I don't think Jeep made such a Rig so i gave it modern number with a vintage letter.

I agree.

You might want to take a ride on some 19.5" wheels and tires before you commit to them. I am on my second and last set on my dodge. They aren't too bad when fully loaded, but are awful empty. I am going with some 255/85R16's on the original wheels in a few months.

If you are dead set on the 19.5" wheels, go with some load range F's. Stay away from the H's. It will help the ride quality some.

I have owned 2 dozen or better truck's with 19.5's i know how they ride, i also know the vehicle weight also requires and air pressure adjustment.

But in keeping with the theme of truck i am modeling them after, i gotta run the 19.5's 14-16 leaf spring stack's and large Dana axles.

I'm bring the old Jeep up to the 550/5500 series truck, So for my build 16's would simply a gross waste of money and time, and i hope to never have to buy another 16inch truck tire for the rest of my life.

I drive a lot, I run Mud tires i see no point in buying a MT 16 that only lasts 25-35K miles for $250/tire, when i can buy $160 19.5 Mud tire and go 75K miles. . .

I hope this doesn't offend anyone, but there ain't never been a prettier looking truck than that ugly "folded paper" straight lined J Truck. Chrysler should've never stopped producing it.

I love it in red, btw! Now lose that sissly-la-la helper handle on the B pillar and it'll be perfect.

It's just a drawing of what it may look like.
I'm sure the grab handle's will be replaced with duel stack's.

Jeep J-5500:

You see the effect i'm going for ? . . . More or less a sawed off shot gun effect. Commercial grade truck stuffed into a light duty truck size . . .

It would be, but i'm shooting for a trailer pulling/ drivable truck so i want it short wheel based.

I have a 1962 GMC 4500 that is built simular to this build is.

that GMC was awesome but i decide to retire it from towing and turn into more of toy so when i built the new all wood bed for it i ditch the goose neck n fifth wheel hitches those are going onto my Stude M275 6x6.

This Jeep is going to be the ATV towing rig.
