Wiper Arms

Has anyone switched their wiper arms to a newer style. My 89 GW arms have the post and I would like to switch arms so I can use the newer wiper blades.

The new solid arm wiper blades that dont have any flex only fit the newer style arms without the post.

i have never heard of these - can you elaborate?

i thought the "new" style was very flexible and had no supporting frame

got a pic - and can you explain whats the advantage?

Those are the only "new" style wiper blades I know of and they work great in everything. I have them on my '06 Ram and my '08 Patriot. The GW is down for another heart transplant.

I could never get those to work on mine...the Rain-x ones, Bosch ones, and Michelin ones all wouldn't press on the middle of the blade hard enough so they left huge areas where they didn't clear. The also left a big section of the passenger side edge uncleared. I use good old fashion winter/snow blades and they work awesome, hard to find out here now that I live in this inhospitable place called the desert though.

Thats the problem I have been having and why I was wondering if there was a newer arm that would fit.

Solved the problem. The Bosch Evolution blades fit great.
