    alternator upgrade? (and ignition question)

Looks like my alternator is croaking.

    Anyone recommendations for a replacement?

Are there any issues with going with the OEM heavy duty replacement (96 amps).

I also have a rough idle that goes away at speed. Is there any chance that this is related to the alternator crapping out?

    Thanks.

You can install the higher amp alternator, but you might notice that at idle it will actually show a discharge. Nothing to worry about, usually, but you need to be aware of it.

The idle is probabaly not related to the alt. Most likely it's related to the spark plug or plug wires.

If your engine is idling "at speed" then the idle is too high
