    Aftermarket headlight harness

Who makes a quality headlight harness with relays? I'm planning on upgrading the headlights on my 78 J10 after I fix a few more things on my list. Would like to install a new upgraded harness at the same time.
    Appreciate any info and advice.

If you want a premade one, plug and chug, message member crackedback.

If you want a kit with good relays etc, look up Daniel Stern Lighting with your favorite search engine. He also has wiring diagrams/instructions.

You can also make your own from scratch - which I assume what Tim has posted about. I've done that.

Wirebarn is a reasonable source for engine compartment type wires.
I actually prefer marine grade from the nearest boat supply.

Either is better for engine compartment than general purpose automotive wire.

One thing to be aware of is that on pre-86 SJs, the power for the lights should come from the alternator. Powering off the battery means the current has to flow all the way through the car to get to the lights. It also makes the ammeter incorrectly show charging. 1986 and up either location will work about as well.
