Don't know what all brand vehicles ran the T98 but they are a pretty tough truck trans. It's the forerunner of the T18. They reportedly had premature bearing failures? Driven them in the states but never owned one so I never experienced any failures. If it came from a stock M-715 it'll be a tough trans regardless of what it is. Don't know what bolt pattern the OHC 230 had but the M-715 I literally flogged in Vietnam never missed a beat. Damn the trees...full speed ahead!

The M-715 came from the factory with a Borg-Warner T-98 transmission and a divorced NP200 transfer case. This means there was a short driveshaft between the transmission and transfer case.

I recall that Novak adapters sells an engine adapter for the M715 that adapts to any of the GM family of engines. Advance Adapters may have a product too.

I suspect this combo is worth about as much as the adapter would sell for, if you could find a buyer. I would try and sell the combination on the M715 zone or other sites that cater to Mil vehicles

Not worth much to this group - none of the FSJs other than the M7xx militarys used this divorced combo, and it would be impractical for another vehicle, especially without the transfer case. The T-98 is functionally the same as a T-18, and considered the obsolete variant. Not really practical for any vehicle other than one that came with the T-98.
