    Advice: Shiny and not necessary...

Shiny air cleaners and valve covers. Dress up stuff, like your AMC 360 is going to a wedding or the Oscars, or both at the same time...

My Jeep came with a chrome Edelbrock air cleaner and regular black valve covers, I need to replace the gaskets on these and I'm thinking about throwing some glitter on the engine.

    What would you choose?

Cast aluminium, black powder coated, finned, chrome, oval cleaners, triangle cleaners....

I like the finned aluminum ones with AMC written on them. But for a 100 bucks I also like the fabricated look too. Jegs has a nice looking set but not sure of the fit.

You could always do something like this?
I chromed the top, and had the bottom powder coated.

(Ristow)fram!....that deserves a ratchet upside the head.

Where did you get the chrome work done? I'd like to do my lid and all my pulleys.

Place called Azusa Plating in Azusa, CA just east of Los Angeles.
He did my pulleys. When I asked him to do a second set he said no. I guess it is really hard to get plating into the crank pulley?

I ended up having my 401 pulleys powder coated silver instead, but I like how my 360 pulleys turned out?

No leaks now with these new valve covers:

Not stock looking, but with a black and chrome Wagoneer on the outside, it made sense to carry the look under the hood too. I also like the fact the valve covers are no longer dripping & burning oil on the headers.

If I ever pull the engine for a total rebuild, I'll be chroming everything including the belts and hoses. Nice work.

Looks great! Where did you run the hose coming off your oil fill tube cap?

                    Thanks

The tube runs to the back of the air cleaner, drilled out a hole under there for it.
