So yea, I'm pretty much an old man.

The best muffler for SUV's I have found, that still rumbles out the back, is the Cherrybomb Vortex. It is a combination of a chamber/straight through/packed muffler. The outside of it is packed like a glass pack. It keeps the sound in the muffler from resonating into the cabin. Has a great sound out the back.
