looking at pulling my mechanical fan off and putting an electric fan on. I have a V8 rad(like 16inchs tall core and bout 26 wide I think. thinking 2 smaller fans would be better than one big one for temp control but not sure. I can get a 16" 1600cfm electric fan for $80, 10" 900cfm fans $75, 12" 1000cfm fan $85, 12" 1100cfm fan $90, 14" 1300cfm fan $95.

im thinking either the 16" or if they fit 2 12" 1100cfm fans. think that would definetly be enough air flow. oppinions?

Do a search in the tech section. I do not recall who it was offhand but one of the regulars has adapted a 90's Chrysler minivan fan setup without too much trouble. It has 2 fans not sure of the size.

I'm running two 16in Derale Fans on mine. One pusher and one puller. I think thats the way to go. That way you get 100% coverage of the radiator and still get to use the big 16 inchers. I have the puller wired to the ignition so it's on whenever the truck is running and I have the pusher wired to a switch. I run them both most of the time though and my engine runs nice and cool even in really hot weather. With these big 360s though I wouldn't run anything less than the 16in. You get a nice hp bonus too.

I have a 258 with factory mechanical fan, with the V8 rad in in front of it there currently no prob with cooling, just want to free up those few extra ponys and have the cooling ability when crawling. plus I just hate the sound of mechanical fans
