Huh? Only use 2WD, except on the boat ramp.
Leave the hubs locked in until you are on the highway. Use low range if you need to to haul the boat up the ramp. Driving straight ahead, you won't get any bind-up in 4WD, and the low range will make towing the boat much easier. When you get to the top of the ramp, shift into 2WD.
