A Couple of 700R4 Swap Questions
I have a two of Jeep projects in need of 700R4 OD transmissions.
For one project I want to use a NP208 on the other a Dana 300 (one is drivers side drop, the other passenger). I have a good 700R4 that came with my 4.3 engine but it is 2WD.
In trading parts with a local guy I have been offered a 92 4WD 700R4 with 233 vacuum shift transfer case. I do not want/need the 233 but what other transfer cases will bolt in its place without mods to the transmission (ie, will it work as is with the 208) ?
If not, would this be a good candidate for my 700R4/Dana 300 swap (I know I would need a new tail shaft)?
Or, since a new 27 spline shaft will have to be swaped in for the Dana 300 could/should I just use the 2WD 700R4 I already have for the 700R4/D300 project?
