    New FSJ owner. 89 GW

Hello all. I recently purchased an 89 Grand Wagoneer for 1500 bucks. I'll need to touch just about everything but I've already started tearing into it. I'm going to need to lean on this community a bit since this is my first truck and first jeep. Thank you for all the help in advance.

Congratulations, I also have an '89... just take one project on at a time. This is 10 years of small projects. Guess which one I drive more.

Great! Glad you here! Start with the things that HAVE to work to drive it; put off things like A/C and interior for now. Have a terrible oil leak? fix it. backfires when you let off the gas? fix it. Rear power door lock solenoids don't work? ignore them for now.

Just make sure you can always drive it. That way you will always be able to enjoy it and if you have to bail on it, you won't lose a ton of money. If you tear it apart with grand aspirations, it will turn into a burdensome pile of parts that is not worth anything.
