    New Waggy Owner! 1964

    Hey Everyone!
I'm the proud new owner of a 1964 Wagoneer that was a former promotional vehicle for a brewer here in Toronto. I think it has a 360 AMC, but I'm having a bit of a hard time identifying - just got the Jeep a few days ago. Anyway it runs great and I'm planning to spend the summer restoring it. I'll post some pictures once I figure out how to do so

Welcome to the site! Is this the Steam Whistle Wagoneer? As I understand, that is a 64 body on an 80s frame and running gear.

There is a tutorial on how to add photos but I recall you need an outside photo site to show them here.
Jeep gauges are for amusement only. Any correlation between them and reality is purely coincidental.

Cool. I always liked that rig.

          Steam Whistle
Grande Verde - 1964 Jeep Wagoneer
This heavy duty ride was purchased from Long Island, New York and was transformed with a 1987 Jeep Cherokee chassis and the suspension given a 4 inch lift with new springs to accommodate heavy loads of beer. The original engine was replaced with an AMC 360 cubic inch motor, for a more dependable drive. These modifications will ensure this manly yet beautiful rig will be around for many more decades. Grande Verde can be seen cruising the streets of Edmonton driven by local rep, Adam Smith.

Looks great, the green sure pops! I use cubeupload its easy and free, but you need to resize your images, I use 800x600 but could go even a bit smaller

I used to do 800x600 pix but went to 1024 wide when I got my screaming 56K Internet connection.

Unfortunately the previous owner painted it black - would have loved to have it the green.

I just had a runaway idle issue - first problem with the eaggy. Going to start a thread!

The green gets tiresome. I like everything else about Jeeps but hate green colored vehicles (unless they are in the jungle for a reason)

Jim's green car theory. Fill in the blanks. I giggle a little each time you talk about it.

By contrast I love green. My first car was a 63 Rambler Classic. It was white and someone had done a black sprayed on simulated vinyl top. The top was pretty durable so I painted the body after replacing the rusty hood and a little body work. It got 71 AMC Brilliant Green. I had test drove a 71 Hornet SC that color with white stripes and fell in love with it. The car too. 360 with a 3 on the floor. Later I bought a 73 Spitfire that was darn close to that same color. A few years later I painted it light metallic green (78 Ford Light Jade Green). As it turns out, I liked that even better than the darker green.
